ABOUT

Andy left Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in the year 2000 with a First Class BA (Hons) Degree in Performance.  Upon leaving he spent the next 3 years touring Austria and Italy with Vienna’s English Theatre.  Then followed a 2 year period of short films, commercials, the lead in his first feature film and playing the role of Barman in a musical version of ‘Brighton Rock’ at The Almeida, directed by Michael Attenborough with original music and lyrics by John Barry and Don Black.

For the next 8 years Andy then took a break from acting.  For 6 of those years he worked for the education department at the Rose Theatre in Kingston, directing numerous plays and short films for the Rose Young Company, as well as teaching regular weekly acting workshops for both young people and adults.  Outside of The Rose Andy taught and directed for other schools and youth theatres, and directed a couple of productions of new writing at fringe venues in London.  He also worked for Esta Charkham at her school and agency in Chiswick for a number of years, first as a teacher and director and then as her assistant.  He still teaches and directs the students there.

Missing the acting side of the industry, Andy made the decision to go back to acting in 2015.  Since then Andy has worked extensively in theatre, including a 10 month production of ‘Breakfast at Tiffanys’  for The Curve Theatre Leicester, directed by Nikolai Foster and starring Pixie Lott.  The show toured for seven months before transferring to the Theatre Royal Haymarket in the West End.  During this return to acting Andy has also shot numerous commercials and short films and continues to teach and direct.  Recently he has set up a home studio and started to work in voiceover, recording his first audiobook in December 2020.

From 2018-2019 Andy played Mr Price in a 16 month UK and Ireland tour of the musical 'Kinky Boots.

Andy lives in Kent with his wife Louise and their 2 year old son.
